On a Sunday afternoon we received a request from a client. A CAT 352 excavator would arrive at the Port of Antwerp the following morning. Could we arrange delivery to their site the same day? With a machine of this size and weight, that is not a straightforward question. Dimensions, permits, suitable transport equipment and timing all have to align precisely, and there is no room for error when a client is waiting on-site. A weekend request like this leaves little time to prepare, but the client needed a clear answer, not a list of reasons why it might be difficult.
Our team started working on it immediately. A CAT 352 is a large piece of equipment, and moving it is nothing like arranging a standard container shipment. Getting it from a seaport to a construction site requires the right trailer, the right permits, and coordination between port, carrier and client. We arranged it that Sunday, working through the details one by one, so everything was ready to move first thing Monday morning.
The excavator was collected in Antwerp on Monday and delivered to the client as agreed. No delays, no surprises. The plan we put together on Sunday held up exactly as intended.
