Warehousing & Handling.

Temporary storage, handling, and consolidation near Schiphol and through our partner network worldwide.

Temporary storage near Schiphol

Cargo does not always move in a straight line from aircraft to final destination. A delivery slot might not be available for another two days, a client's warehouse might not have space until a scheduled date, or a shipment might need to wait for a related consignment before it can move onward together. In cases like these, temporary storage bridges the gap without holding up the rest of the process.

We arrange this through our partner network near Schiphol, covering everything from a pallet held for a few days to a larger consignment awaiting onward instructions. Typical use cases include staggered deliveries, cargo waiting for a customs query to clear, and shipments that arrive ahead of a client's own production schedule.

Handling and repacking

Sometimes cargo needs attention before it continues its journey. Multiple smaller shipments might need consolidating into a single onward booking. Packaging that was damaged in transit, or does not meet the requirements of the next leg, needs repairing or replacing before it can move again.

We handle that through our partner facilities: repacking, relabelling, and remarking cargo so it is compliant and ready for the next stage, whether that is final delivery or a connecting shipment by another mode. Every step is recorded, so you know exactly what was done and when.

Warehousing at BYR is never a standalone service. It is part of a shipment we are already coordinating for you.

Temperature controlled storage

Some cargo cannot simply sit in a standard warehouse. Pharmaceutical products, perishables, and other temperature-sensitive materials need a controlled environment even during a short hold between legs of a journey.

We arrange this through our partner network, with facilities that meet GDP requirements where the cargo demands it. The storage period might be short, sometimes no more than a day or two, but the temperature range is monitored throughout, because a single gap in the cold chain can undo everything that was done correctly up to that point.

Part of your shipment

Warehousing is rarely a standalone service for BYR clients. It is usually part of a larger import or export we are already coordinating, a few days in the middle of a process that starts with a booking and ends with delivery to your door.

That means you do not need to arrange storage separately or manage a second supplier for it. One contact has the full overview of your shipment, including the time it spends in storage, so nothing gets lost in a handover between us and someone else.

Frequently asked questions

From a single day to several weeks, depending on what the shipment needs. Most storage we arrange is short-term, bridging a gap of a few days between arrival and onward delivery, but longer periods can be arranged through our partner network when a shipment genuinely requires it.

It is available for pharmaceutical products, perishables, and other sensitive materials that require it, through our partner network. Not every facility handles every temperature range or product category, so we match your cargo to a partner that can actually meet the requirement rather than assuming any warehouse will do.

We arrange storage and handling through a network of specialised partner facilities near Schiphol rather than operating our own warehouse. This means we can match each shipment to a facility suited to its specific requirements, whether that is bonded storage, temperature control, or a simple short-term hold, instead of fitting every shipment into one fixed space.

Every handling step is recorded, so if something does go wrong, we know exactly where and when. We work with insured partner facilities and manage any claim on your behalf, and we tell you immediately rather than letting it surface only when the cargo reaches you.
